Dr. Kelsy R. Steele is a clinical instructor and researcher at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Steele received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University, followed by a Master of Science degree in biology – medical sciences from Mississippi College. Dr. Steele received her Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry and following graduation, remained at OSU to complete a two-year Cornea and Contact Lens Advanced Practice Fellowship. She completed and defended a thesis on water exposure to contact lenses, which earned her a Master of Science degree in vision science. Dr. Steele is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a two-time William C. Ezell Fellowship recipient. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at The Ohio State University College of Optometry where her research focuses on complications associated with contact lens wear including water exposure, corneal inflammation and infection, and contact lens hygiene.
Thomas G. Quinn, OD, MS, FAAO, FSLS
Dr. Quinn and his wife, Dr. Susan Quinn, established a group practice in Athens, Ohio in 1983 and currently serves at the Associate Director of the GP Lens Institute.
Tom is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomateof its Cornea, Contact Lens and Refractive Technologies Section. He has served the Academy in various capacities over the years, but is currently chairing itsClinical Investigator Certification Program, leading the Mentorship section of the Flom Leadership Course Series, and has served as host of the Anterior Segment Portion of the Academy’s Clinical Podcast Series. He was the 2019 Recipient of the American Academy of Optometry’s Vincent Ellerbrock Clinician Educator Award.
Tom has served as chair of the American Optometric Association’s Contact Lens and Cornea Section Council; a fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society; an advisor to the Gas Permeable Lens Institute (GPLI) and past recipient of itsGP Lens Practitioner of the Year Award; is past chair of the EastWest EyeConference and past member of the Educational Advisory Board for Vision Expo.
He was the 2022 Recipient of The Ohio State University College of Optometry’s Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Dr. Plaumann received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry after earning her B.S. in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then completed a residency in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy at the Southern California College of Optometry before going on to complete her Ph.D. at the Ohio State University. Her dissertation work focused on adult amblyopia, analyzing fixation patterns and developing translational measures of interocular suppression with the goal of one day developing better treatments for the condition. Dr. Plaumann is the 2021 Danne Ventura/Essilor Ezell Fellow and the 2019 Baycross Christian Family Foundation Binocular Vision & Pediatrics Ezell Fellow. She is also the recipient of the NIH loan repayment program. Dr. Plaumann is now an Assistant Professor in the department of Clinical Sciences at the University of Houston’s College of Optometry.

Dr. Pucker is the Sr. Director of Clinical and Medical Sciences at Lexitas Pharma Services. He earned his OD, MS, and PhD degrees from The Ohio State University. His independent research and clinical career has focused on dry eye disease, contact lenses, and myopia development. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and over 150 editor reviewed columns. Dr. Pucker is a Fellow and Diplomate of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, and Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association. He has also received a number of other honors, which include two William C. Ezell Fellowships, the Irvin M. and Beatrice Borish Award, and the Association of Schools & Colleges of Optometry’s Rising Star Award.

Kaleb Abbott is an optometrist and assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is faculty in both the Dry Eye Clinic and the Center for Ocular Inflammation where he specializes in complex ocular surface disease and participates in clinical trials/research pertaining to ocular surface disease.
In addition to his clinical and research duties, he is on the board of directors for the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society, Vice Chair of the Nutrition, Disease Prevention, and Wellness SIG for AAO, and on the advisory council for the Academic Medical Center Optometry AAO SIG. He was also selected for the Flom Leadership Academy through the American Academy of Optometry which he will be attending in 2023-2024. Recently he became host of the Dry Eye and Ocular Surface Disease section of the Clinical Podcast Series through the American Academy of Optometry Foundation.
In 2019, Kaleb co-founded a start-up company called SunSnap Kids which took 1st place in the inaugural Bright Ideas Pitch Competition in 2022 and 3rd place in the Optometry Innovation Awards in 2023. Recently he sold the majority of this company to focus more on his clinical and research responsibilities at University of Colorado.
When not seeing patients, conducting research, or working on SunSnap Kids, Dr. Abbott lectures on ocular surface disease, writes articles for Modern Optometry and Healio, and is a medical reviewer for both The Ocular Surface and Optometry and Vision Science. He resides in Denver, CO with his wife and daughter where they enjoy skiing, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Mika Moy graduated from the UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science and completed a residency in Pediatrics and Cornea/Contact Lenses there. She is the Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs at Berkeley Optometry where she teaches the Anterior Segment Disease course and is a clinical instructor as well as a mentor for residents. Her interests include anterior segment disease, pediatrics, and neuro-optometry and she is a frequent lecturer nationally and internationally. She is a Diplomate and Founding Member of the Anterior Segment Section of the American Academy of Optometry. She currently serves as a Board Member for the American Academy of Optometry Foundation as well as the California Optometric Association. She recently received the Vincent Ellerbrock Clinician Educator Award from the Academy.
