Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer members are the heart of the Academy. As a volunteer, you are in a vital position to create change and drive the optometric community. Some of the benefits include:
- Expand Your Network. The biggest benefit is the relationships you form while serving on a committee!
- Demonstrate and Develop Your Leadership. You don’t have to be chair of a committee to demonstrate your leadership. Hone those skills at the Amademy’s Leadership Summit.
- Acquire New Knowledge and Skills. Put your skills to the test and attain new ones while serving among your colleagues.
- Pay it Forward. Feel good about giving back to the optometric community by serving in this way.
- Earn COPE points. Grab additional points for volunteering while you feed your own personal mission.
The time commitment required varies from committee to committee and role you serve. Please view each Standing Committee’s page for more information on how much time they require of you.
