Admittance Committee
Charge: The Function of the Admittance Committee is to work directly with candidates for Fellowship, and to develop and implement the procedures that must be followed for candidates to be admitted as Fellows of the American Academy of Optometry.
Admittance Mentorship Subcommittee
Charge: The Mentorship Subcommittee’s role is to recruit and train Academy Fellows to be good mentors and help match Fellows with current and prospective candidates from similar backgrounds and areas of expertise.
Awards Committee
Charge: To identify Academy awardees and plan and implement appropriate recognition.
Chapters Committee
Charge: To stimulate interest in chapter activities by networking with each other to increase the number of chapters where there are sufficient numbers of Academy Fellows.
Communications Committee
Charge: The Committee works with the Board of Directors and staff to support ongoing and new communications initiatives annually.
Ethics Committee
Charge: The function of the Ethics Committee is to review complaints related to the Standards of Conduct of Fellows of the American Academy of Optometry.
Faculty Student Liaison Committee
Charge: The Fellows of the AAO want optometry students, graduate students and the faculty at schools and colleges to join them in promoting education and research throughout the world.
