Search Help

Use the Search form to set one or several search criteria to search Scientific Program abstracts (posters and presentations) and/or Ellerbrock Courses.

Detail Level	Brief Summary Detail  Choose the level of detail desired in the results. Brief: Includes day, start/end time, room, and name of event only. Summary: Includes 'Brief' plus background or purpose of the Scientific program poster or presentation and abstract of an Ellerbrock course. Detail: Includes 'Summary' information plus full details of Scientific Program presentations or posters, including the abstract. The detail view of Ellerbrock includes the abstract and the course outline.
Types	Both Ellerbrock Scientific Program Select Ellerbrock to find courses and Scientific Program to find posters or presenations. Select 'Both' to include Ellerbrock and Scientific Program in your search.
Select Topic	Hold down the ctrl key and click to select more than one -- Select All -- Academy Information Binocular Vision Perception & Pediatrics Cornea and Contact Lenses Ellerbrock Workshop Low Vision / Rehabilitation Ocular Disease Optics and Refraction Optometric Education Other Pediatric Optometry Practice Management Primary Care Public Health Special Topics Vision Science Visual Biology Use the 'Topic' drop down to narrow your search to a particular area. You may select multiple topics by holding the 'Ctrl' key down and simultaneously clicking on as many topics as you wish.
Conference   Days	Wednesday, December 11, 2002 Thursday, December 12, 2002 Friday, December 13, 2002 Saturday, December 14, 2002 Sunday, December 15, 2002 Include specific meeting days by selecting the checkbox next to the appropriate day. By default all days are searched if no days are selected.
Keywords	Hold down the ctrl key and click to select more than one -- Select All -- Aberrations/Image quality Accommodation Age-related eye disease Albinism Amblyopia Animal models/studies Aniseikonia Anterior chamber Aphakia Astigmatism Binocular vision Scientific Program abstracts and Ellerbrock courses are all assigned up to three key words. To narrow your search by key word, select keywords from the drop down box. You may select multiple keywords by holding the 'Ctrl' key down and simultaneously clicking as many keywords as you wish.
Article Title	Enter a word, words, or phrase enclosed in quotation marks to search the title of the abstract or course.
Article Text	Enter a word to search the abstract of Scientific Program presentations/posters. If Ellerbrock is selected, this will search the Ellerbrock course abstract and outline text.
Author	, Last, First Name You may complete one or both of the name fields. Partial spellings will also work. I.e. search for 'Jon' - will display, "Jones", "Jonston", "Jonathan".
Affiliation	Use this field to search for the organization (educational or corporate) with which the Author (or coauthor) is associated.
Order By	Date-Time Author Article Title Topic Select the criteria in which to order the results. Author order is by primary author only.

 Submit: The results will display on a new page after clicking the "submit" button.

Search Tips

Both the "Article Title" and "Article Text" search functions allow  words and phrases. Enclose phrases in quotation marks, for example "contact Lenses". Use an aserisk for partial search terms, for example dispos*, which will return results of all terms beginning with dispos.

Another feature of the enhanced search is the ability to specify your join preference. You have the choice of using "and", "or", and "and not" to instruct the search engine on how you want it search for things. For instance say you want to find retina but not disease. You would type in retina and not disease. If you wanted to find a document that contained both eye and optical you would type retina and disease. When no join preference is specified the default is "or". For instance if you typed retina disease it would be the same as typing retina or disease.
